Worship

Purpose #1:  Worship of the Lord Almighty

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."  -- Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

We worship God in many ways, including singing, prayer, the spoken Word, and in our giving.  It isn't just something to be done on Sunday morning.   Worship should be done individually and in our families everyday.   Worship services are opportunities for us to express our praise and thanks  to God together!   We are all participants with an audience of one (God).

Our worship services include a blend of traditional and more contemporary music.    Our worship team usually includes 8-10 people leading the singing and playing a variety of instruments, including the piano, keyboard, organ, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, and drums.   The later service includes a song performed by our choir

Service Times:

bullet Our Sunday Morning Worship Services are at 8:00 AM and 10:45 AM
bullet Sunday School classes for all ages from 9:30 to 10:30 AM
bulletSunday Evening Worship and IMPACT Ministries Worship (for teens) at 6:00 PM
bulletWednesday Night Prayer Meeting is at 7 PM

Communion:  We generally serve the Lord's Supper  on the first Sunday of each month and on Good Friday.   The bread and wine (grape juice) at Mars Alliance are open to all who have professed faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.   We believe that the bread and wine are symbols of the body and blood of our Lord.

Baptism:  We believe in the baptism of believers by immersion.  It is an opportunity to make an outward expression of faith for what God has already done in your heart.  It is also an act of obedience to the Lord's command for believers.   Baptismal services are usually held on two Sundays each year, one in the spring and one in the fall.

Dedication:  We dedicate infants and young children to the Lord, asking God's help for the parents.   The entire congregation is asked to dedicate themselves to the best interests and growth of the child.   Dedications can be arranged by speaking to Pastor Cope.
