Pastoral Staff

Rev. Paul Cope and his wife Connie came to Mars to serve as our pastor in 1972.  We have been greatly blessed to have him serve us for over 33 years.  They have 4 children, Patty and Becky, who are married and live in Georgia and North Carolina, Chrissy who is married and lives in Cranberry Twp., and Paul Timmy, who recently married and is living in Mars.  Pastor Cope and Connie are graduates of Toccoa Falls College.  His e-mail address is pcope@marsalliance.org.

Pastor Scott Kelly directs our Impact (teen) ministries.  He grew up attending Mars Alliance with his family and as a teen sensed God's call on his life to youth ministry.  Scott is a graduate of Geneva College.  He joined our staff on September 1, 2007.  His e-mail address is s.kelly@marsalliance.org

Rev. Jeff Lawther is our new Family Life Pastor, starting April 15, 2008.  Currently, this is a part-time position in which his duties will include doing some preaching, helping to develop small groups, visiting the sick, coordinating various ministries, and serving on the Board.  Jeff was ordained by the C&MA in 2007 after completing several years of study.  He has served as an elder and Sunday School teacher at Mars Alliance for many years and assisted the last several years in the ministry of Drake Alliance Church in Mercer County.  Jeff's wife, Shirley, serves as head deaconness.

Please pray for us as we continue to seek to add a part-time Music Director. 

Office Staff

Augie Bell has been a great addition to the staff as Church Administrator.  She started in this position in May 2007, after serving our church in a number of volunteer roles, including Missionary Treasurer, for many years.  Her e-mail address is abell@marsalliance.org    

Lorrie Borchert has served for a number of years as our secretary and administrative assistant. She is now our Office Manager, directing the efforts of our two part-time secretaries / receptionists, Debbie Kuhn and Heidi Burford, and a group of volunteers.   Lorrie and our secretaries can be reached by e-mail at this address: macoffice@marsalliance.org

Freda Shaw is our part-time bookkeeper, assisting the treasurer (Ross Conley) and assistant treasurer (Naomi Watson) with mailing, filing, and various entry work.  Freda faithfully served as our assistant treasurer for many years.
